This is a fantastic original Indian War era cartridge box plate. This is the style that went on the Frazier pattern cartridge box. This original oval plate with the "NG" in the center. On page 364 of Mike O'Donnell's buckle book he shows this style plate and states that they were for the New York National Guard and he dates them from 1870 to 1890. On the back of the plate it has the original brass attachment loops intact. This is a great looking piece all the way around.
