Click on an image to enlarge
This is a beautiful original non-dug coat size 1830 period artillery corps button. This one has great looking detail. It has the cannon on the front with the eagle perched on top of the barrel. It has the scene on the lined background which retains a fine amount of the original gold gilding in the protected areas of the face that brings out the button's detail. This one has the original shank present on the back of the button and you can read the backmark of "TIMPERIAL ORANGE GILT". This is the style listed as figure AY51b in Albert's button book. It is a great looking 1-piece artillery coat button in non-excavated condition.
