This is a cool looking authentic Civil War production Smith & Wesson model No. 2 Army. This one has the serial number of 36,375 which is just after the production numbers of the Civil War which went to 35,731. This one would have been made in later part of 1865. It has the full-length 6 inch barrel and along the top of the barrel it has the "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS" maker's mark and production location. All of the metal parts have a wonderful high quality factory engraving to them. They have the ornate foliate and geometric engraving. It is superbly detailed in all regards. The action on the gun works on the clicks well on the single cocking position. The handle has the beautiful 2-piece mother-of-pearl grips present and they have a great look to the pearl. These mother-of-pearl grips make the gun really stand out from the usual Smith & Wesson revolvers. On the right hand side grip panel has had a small chip expertly restored and it displays well as you can see. These Smith & Wesson revolvers were utilized during the Civil War by well-to-do officers including General Grant and General Custer. This is a nice authentic .32 caliber rimfire revolver with an attractive look featuring beautiful factory engraving as well as the mother of pearly grips. '
