Here is a button that you don't see offered very often! It is an original early 1-piece U.S. naval coat button. This is the pattern that is listed as the NA81a1 in Albert's button book. It has the Union eagle in the center of the button with the anchor down below but no rope passing through. Around the edge of the button it has the 16 stars on the lined background. The face of the button has a beautiful look as you can see in the pic. On the reverse of the button it has the "TREBLE GILT STANDARD COLOUR*" backmark still vividly visible. The shank is solid as a rock as you can see. This is a superb and scarce version 1-piece navy button from about the 1820's.
