Click on an image to enlarge

This is a very nice displaying coat size button from the War of 1812. It is the button worn by the 1st regiment of artillerists. It has the beautiful foliated style script "A" on the face with the number "1" inside the oval below. This is the pattern listed as AY36 in Albert's button book. These were made by the firm of "LEAVENWORTH HAYDEN & SCOVILL". The shank is missing off of the reverse. There is some old glue residue from a display board remaining on the back. This is a very good looking war of 1812 1st regiment of artillery coat button. '
