Nice 1820's Dug1-Piece Artillery Corps Coat Button AY57
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a fine original dug coat size 1820 period artillery corps button. This one has great looking detail. It has the cannon on the front with the eagle perched on top of the barrel. Below the gun is a stack of ten cannonballs and the large word "CORPS". This one has the original shank missing off of the back of the button and is the version that was made without a backmark. This is the style listed as figure AY57a in Albert's button book and as AM209 in Tice's button book which we sell. It is a very good looking 1-piece artillery coat button in excavated condition. '
