Beautiful Non-Excavated 1-Piece Maine State "Star" Coat Button Like ME4
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a great looking button! This is the button that was worn by the soldiers from the State of Maine. It is the pattern that was listed as figure ME4 in Albert's button book and as an unlisted variation of ME100b in Tice's button book. The face of the button has the smaller star design in the center. Around the edge of the button it has 17 stars on a lined background. These are one piece buttons and this one is in excellent shape with the original shank nicely intact on the reverse. You can also read the backmark of "RICH QUALITY LONDON" except this old English letter pattern is unlisted in the book. This is a great looking specimen all the way around.
