Here is your chance to own an authentic military document signed by the most famous of all Confederate Generals, Robert E. Lee. This document was signed by Lee before the Civil War while he was serving as the Superintendent of West Pint Military Academy. The letter measures 7-1/4th inches by 7-3/4ths inches in overall size. It was written from West Point Military Academy and is dated June 20th 1854. The letter is addressed to Captain Faurot on the Sloop Intrepid. Lee states that "I send down 2 boxes, directed to Lt. G.W. Custis Lee, Savannah for care of Capt Gilmer U.S. Engineers, which you will much oblige me, by having shipped to Savannah by either the line of Packets, most convenient to you. Please take a bill of Lading & send it to me on your return here." It is beautifully signed in fine brown ink at the bottom "R.E. Lee" The Signature is the classic Lee style autograph that is coveted by collectors. The letetr is accompanied by a modern made xerox of General Lee in his Confederate Uniform. This is one of his early documents that are tough to find. This is a fantastic looking framed Robert E. Lee letter that is ready to be framed and hung on your wall.
