This is a very cool gun! This is a hand crafted pistol of a style that you often see referred to as a Southern made pistol. Local gunsmiths would take factory made parts and assemble them with their own flair. The ones that you see referred to as Southern made guns often have this bird's head grip without a grip cap. It has the ornate engraved triggerguard with the simple unmarked other pieces. This shows that the gunsmith was using what he could get his hands on and not simply ordering or making new parts. This one utilizes a gorgeous piece of dark walnut wood. It has the full-length barrel that measures 7-3/8ths inches in length. It fires a single bullet of about .32 caliber in size. The unmakred lockplate has the country rifle style hammer and the mechanics still catch on both positions. It has a drum style percussion bolster. The forestock of the gun has the hand crafted lead nosecap. Under the barrel it has the simple iron ramrod channel guide and wooden ramrod. This is a great gun. We can't say for sure that it is a Southern made gun but it is very likely a Southern made gun with a lot of character that doesn't cost thousands.
