These are original examples of shrapnel fragments from Civil War cannon shells and cannonballs. They have been legally recovered from here in the Shiloh and North Mississippi area. Among the style shells that there are different size round cannonballs,6, 12 and 24#ers and the shells are mostly from Parrott style shells. They vary in size and each one is unique in the way that it broke off the shell when the powder charge exploded. If you order more than one they will each be slightly different. These are nice affordable piece of Civil War History that ware excavated here in the area and would have been part of the famous Shiloh campaign. The price quoted is for one original Civil War cannon shell or cannonball fragment similar to the ones pictured.
