Early Pattern Eagle Head Officer's Sword with Original Leather & Brass Scabbard

This is a very nice looking sword! It is the slightly post 1812 period eagle head officer's sword. This is the curve bladed version that is often listed as an Infantry officer's sword. This one is made about 1820 or so. The blade is full-length at 27-3/4ths inches. The blade, like the rest of the sword, has a pleasing color look all over. The blade is the pattern that was made without etching as you can see. At the top of the sword it has the large eagle head pommel cap. The hand guard is the version with the single branch which is made of brass. The original dark brown pressed horn handle of the sword is present on the grip. The horn has aged to a beautiful dark chocolate tone with ancient wear. The sword scabbard is still present which is rare because of their leather and brass construction. It has both of the original brass rings intact on the mounts. This is a beautiful early style eagle head design officer's sword.
