Very Scarce Civil War Era Officer's Doe Skin Gauntlets

Here is a superb piece of Civil War history! It is an original pair of Civil War era leather gauntlets. This is the classic style that you see worn by officers during the war. They are made of a beautiful white doe skin leather that has turned a golden tan tone over the years. As you can see they each display superbly from all angles. These are much scarcer than the uniforms because they have such a smaller survival rate. These are wonderful because you can see that they were worn but they were always taken care of. The have stiffened slightly over the years. On the inside of each you can see the size marking of "8 1/2". These will make a fantastic addition to any officer display. Item #: B232 (Sold)
