Here is a very attractive .22 caliber seven shot revolver. This one was made by the Manhattan Firearms Company of New York. It has their maker's mark and production location stamped on the top of the 3 inch barrel. This is pattern they made just after they were sued by Smith & Wesson for patent infringement on the Rolin White patent. On the underside of the barrel it has the 1859 patent marking. This one is serial numbered 4,305 under the grip as well as on the back of the cylinder. Flayderman states that these second model revolvers were made only from 1868 until 1873. The barrel has the original engraving on each side as you can see. The brass frame has the ornate and beautiful factory engraving that makes it display beautifully. The action rotates on the positions and the cylinder locks up occasionally. The frame of the gun is made of brass and it has a very pleasing color as you can see. On the handle of the gun it has the original grips still nicely intact with a beautiful look. These 2nd model production Manhattan revolvers are tough to find and this one is a nice looking one all over.
