This is an original and complete Civil War socket bayonet for the Austrian pattern rifle. This is the pattern that shows up on the 54 and 58 caliber Austrian rifles that were utilized by both sides during the Civil War. This one has a full-length blade with the distinctive 4 sides to the blade that lets us know it is an Austrian pattern. These Austrian pattern bayonets have the sweeping channel for the musket's front sight to go though compared to the straight lines of other sight channels. The socket is present with the original lockring and screw that are fully functioning. On the side of the blade shank you can see the Vienna Arsenal star inspector proof mark. It has some pitting and wear but will look great with many of the rifles that are out there. This one is in very nice condition and just need your gun.
