This is an original metallic cartridge for the Civil War era teat-fire revolver. These are the Moore's Patent revolver that was made by the National Firearms Company. They are distinctive as they loaded from the front of the cylinder and they have the teat on the powder end of the cartridge. This is the pattern that is listed as figure #97 in the cartridge section of McKee & Mason's bullet book. This is the style that has the rounded pattern teat. What a nice original cartridge.
