This is a fantastic piece of history! It is an authentic CDV image of Confederate General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard. The image shows Beauregard in a fine suit of clothes with his thick mustache and small beard in a fine seated view. Across the bottom of the card stock it has the bold ink autograph that reads "G.T. Beauregard 1867". It has the photograopher marking of Levitsky, 22 Rue de Choiseul just below the image. Beauregard was one of the most important figures of Civil War. He was in command of Charleston during the capture of Fort Sumter, then at 1st Manassas. Then he went west and was 2nd in Command under Albert Sidney Johnston at Shiloh. He then was sent back to Charleston where de defended the city. He then fought with Robert E. Lee in trying to save Richmond and the area. As you can see this card and image is in nice shape all the way around. It comes beautifully framed in a frame that measures 7-1/2 inches by 9-1/2 inches in overall size. This is a cool autographed Confederate CDV with a neat look!
