Click on an image to enlarge
This is a beautiful displaying post-Civil War uniform for the 5th Maryland National Guard Militia. It is a beautiful cadet gray color with black trim. The front has the triple rows of buttons with the backmarks that would date the coat from about 1880 or so. All of the buttons are still present and accounted for. The cuffs have the buttons intact and it has two remaining on the back of the coat. It still has the ordnance style bombs at the base of the swallow style coat tails. This one has the epaulets still intact on the shoulders. Inside of the coat it has the full liner in the chests and sleeves. Some of the silk is frayed at the bottom as they will over time. This is a superb displaying coat from after the Civil War but display superbly and is nicely priced.
