Here is your chance to own an authentic signature of the most famous of all Confederate Generals, Robert E. Lee. This is an authentic CDV card image of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. It is a nice clear from-life image of the general in his fine suit of clothes. This is one of the images that was taken after the Civil War. It shows the stately looking Lee. Lee served with distinction in every post that he ever held. To this day, he is the only man to Graduate West Point Military Academy without getting a single demerit. Lee was offered the Command of the Union forces but declined the position so he could fight with his home state of Virginia and the Confederacy. What makes this image so special, is that the front of the card has the clear ink signature of General Lee. He signs it in his classic style "R.E. Lee" in blue ink and as you can see the signature is relatively large in size. When you turn the card over, you see the photographer marking of "C.R. Rees & Co., Richmond, 1868". The card stock itself measures 3-7/8ths inches wide and is 3-3/4ths inches tall. The applied image measures 2-1/4ths inches wide and is 3-1/2 inches tall.
