Beautiful Anchor and Eagle Hand Guard Eagle Pommel Sword & Scabbard

Here is a great early naval sword. This is a naval officer's sword from the 1830 to 1850 timeframe. The sword has the classic eagle pommel design and it even has some of the original gold gilding on the brass. The hand guard has the single branch design with another eagle for the quillion. The guard has the clam shell design. On the clamshell it has an amazing and ornate design. It has the large Union eagle with the arrows of war on one talon and the other talon has the branch of peace. The eagle is in front of the naval anchor with the trident on the left hand side. It has the 2-piece mother of pearl grip panels with a nice worn look. The double twist brass wire is still nicely intact. The blade is full-length at 31-1/2 inches. The blade has the original etching still visible on both sides. It has some of the original blue and gold finish that details the etching. The sword is accompanied by an original scabbard. The scabbard is constructed of brass. The body of the scabbard has the detail work on the front side. It has the original drag intact with the throat being lost to the ages. It has had the rings removed which leaves it being able to be carried on a shoulder sling. That is why they left the floral "Button" to go through the shoulder belt rig holder. This is a scarce sword with a gorgeous handguard design.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
