Very Fine 1861 C.S. $10 Note with the Goddess "Hope" Design T-25

This is an authentic original 1861 dated Confederate States of America $10.00 note. In the center of the note it has the image of the Goddess Hope with an anchor. In the lower left hand corner is the likeness of Robert M.T. Hunter who served as Confederate Secretary of State and a C.S. Senator. Before the War he was a U.S. Congressman and Senator from Virginia. In the lower right hand side is the likeness of C.G. Memminger who served as the Confederate Secretary of the Treasury and was the key man in production of Confederate paper money. This is the version listed as T-25 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. It was issued from Richmond, Virginia and has the printed date of September 2nd of 1861. The note has a very nice look. It is correctly hand signed and dated. The note has the notched trimmed out of the bottom edge. This is known as it being "Cut Cancelled" this lets us know that it was taken out of circulation by the Confederate Government. It has been professionally graded by the PMG Company and they have rated it as "Very Fine". It comes in their acid-free holder for preservation and display.
