Underhammer Musket With 49 Inch Long Barrel That Fired a .63 Caliber Musket Ball

What a cool looking gun! This is a mid 1800's Underhammer lock design musket. This gun was probably made in the 1840s to 1850s. It is designed with a one piece walnut wooden stock that is very well made around the breech. It has the hand checkering at the wrist of the stock. This gun is that the iron trigger guard which also serves as the mainspring. This one no longer cocks after all of the years. Under the barrel it has the ramrod channel guides with and a replacement rod in the channel. The gun has the full-length unmarked full-length barrel that measures a whopping 49 inches. It has a smooth bore and fires a bullet of about .63 caliber size. The barrel has the design that almost looks like a Brown Bess style. The gun has an overall length of 66 inches. This is a very cool looking hand made underhammer!
