Quite Scarce Coat Size Confederate Engineer Button CS155

In 25 years this is the one of first one of these rarities we have been able to offer. It is the style button listed as figure CS154 in Albert's book and CSE215a1 in Tice's button book. It is the rare 25 mm version of the Confederate Engineer's cuff button. This jewel would have been made in England and imported through the Union naval blockade so it could be sold by a Southern retailer to the well-to-do Confederate Engineer. It has the old English style "E" on the face which denotes the Engineering branch of Confederate service. As you see the face of the button is beautiful with a nice amount of the original gold gilding intact. This one has the original back and shank intact with the "W.DOWLER SUPERIOR" backmark still clearly visible. This button is complete with no repair of any kind. It is a great button that will stand out to any of your button collecting friends when they come over.
