Click on an image to enlarge
This is a beautiful 1-piece coat size Infantry officer's eagle "I" button. On the front of the button it has the eagle with the "I" in the center of the eagle's shield which denotes the infantry branch of service. It has an excellent original shank intact. It has the maker's mark of "*SUPERFINE * COLOUR" with the wreaths. The face has fine detail and a clear "I" in the eagle's shield and the silver has aged to a beautiful gray color. The silver makes these buttons stand out from the normal 1-piece infantry buttons. This is the pattern listed as GI79 in Albert's button book and as GI200D5 in Tice's book. This is an excellent button all the way around.
