Attractive Original 1906 Pattern U.S. Cavalry Saber in the Correct Scabbard
Click on an image to enlarge
This is an attractive looking original 1906 pattern U.S. cavalry saber in scabbard. It looks almost identical to the classic Civil War cavalry saber except that the guard and pommel cap are made of iron rather than brass. One has a full-length blade with a medium tone all over. At the base of the blade it has the 1906 date and the ordnance bomb. On the back of the blade it has the "US' mark and the inspector initials of "JHC". The handle is present and it has most of the original leather grip is still hanging on. The wire wrapping is present with a beautiful untouched look. The sword is accompanied by the correct original scabbard. The scabbards for these model 1906 look very similar to the model 1860 except for the way the mounts are very close together and the model 1860 mounts are spaced further apart. As you can see this one has both of the mounts, ring, drag and throat intact on the scabbard. This is a very nice and complete U.S. model 1906 cavalry saber in the correct scabbard.
