Authentic Confederate Belt Buckles & Plates From The Civil War
Buckles
"Atlanta" Style Civil War C.S.A. Belt Buckle with Cool Field Alteration
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a fine looking belt buckle! It is an original Confederate States of America rectangular belt buckle. On the front of the plate it has the bold, proud letters "C.S.A.". This is the letter style variation that is often referred to by collectors as the Atlanta style. This pattern is easily distinguished by the thicker construction compared to the "Virginia" style of thinner construction. It is missing all three original integrally cast brass belt hooks intact on the reverse. What is so cool is that you can tell that the keeper hook broke and the soldier tried to use a nail as a replacement. Now that's needing a buckle. It has a great greenish maroon patina and the lettering shows up superbly. The verbal history that accompanied the buckle is that it was recovered by Sean Buro on December 31st 2017 at Temple, Georgia, This location is on the Alabama side of the city of Atlanta. This is a very attractive Confederate belt buckle.
