1861 Dated Confederate $5 With Secretary Memminger and Goddess Minerva T-33

This is a great example of the beauty of design in Confederate currency. It is the 1861 dated Confederate States of America $5.00 note. In the center of the note it has the image of C.C. Memminger who served as the Confederate Secretary of the Treasury and was the key man in production of Confederate paper money. On the right hand side it has the likeness of the Goddess Minerva. It was issued on September 2nd 1861 from Richmond. This is the version listed as T-33 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. It is correctly hand signed and numbered in ink. The note is in circulated condition and comes in an acid-free holder for preservation and display. It has the attractive black and green ink combination that makes it displays superbly. This is a very attractive early Confederate note.
