1861 Dated Autograph of Confederate General From Tennessee Felix Zollicoffer

Here is a fine original autograph of Confederate General Felix Zollicoffer (1812 - 1862). This is an excellent original autograph of the famous Confederate General. It is his personal check that is dated March 26, 1861. It is drawn on the Planters' Bank of Tennessee in Nashville. It is boldly signed "F. K. Zollicoffer" The check measures 7-1/4th inches by 2-3/4ths inches. There is cancellation cut mark "X" in the center of the paper that is mentioned for exactness but does not detract from the display. Zollicoffer was born in Maury County, Tennessee on May 19, 1812. He was a journalist before the war but served during the Seminole War of 1836. He was elected to Congress and served until 1859. He received his commission as a Confederate Brig. General in the Confederate States Army on July 9, 1861. During the battle of Mill Springs on July 19, 1862 the general was killed in action. He is buried in Nashville, Tennessee. It come sin an acid free holder for display and preservation. It is accompanied by a modern made xerox image of General Zollicoffer. This is a wonderful autograph that will display superbly when it is framed on your wall.
