This is a very cool looking gun! This one is made of the parts of several guns and was made eons ago. The barrel is full-length at 7-1/2 inches and fires a single bullet of .52 caliber in size. The gunsmith used a barrel band from a military musket to hold the barrel in place on the stock. The gun was originally a flintlock and they converted it to fire in the percussion system. They did this by adding a drum bolster to the side of the barrel. The nipple is missing out of the drum bolster. Instead of replacing the hammer, they made an iron striker and put it in place where the flint would have originally gone. The mechanics of the lockplate still catch on both positions. On the bottom of the grip it has a brass grip cap with a wonderful ancient color. The stock is made of a single piece of walnut wood and it has a great looking untouched color all over. This is a really cool pistol.
