This is an attractive original Civil War era powder flask. This one has the body has the brass sides with no markings on the sides. It stands about 8 inches tall and is about 3 inches across. It has a beautiful copper tone patina to the brass with some bumps and bruises from being carried. It is the version that doesn't have the strap rings on the sides. The spout is present and the spring is no longer functional. Along the top of the spout base it is marked "SYKES PATENT". This is the style flask that was popular during the mid-1800’s and this size would have been for a high quality large pistol or rifle. It has a very attractive overall look!
