This gun is a coolly designed pistol. This pistol which would date from the 1850s and it was a beautiful piece when it was new. This one has seen a rough life but it is priced right and could probably be improved. As you can see, it is beautifully designed from tip to tip. The long barrel measures 9-3/8ths inches in overall length. It fires a massive single bullet of .72 in caliber. As you can see the barrel has the remnants of the Damascus pattern on the octagonal sides. At the breech of the barrel it has the ornate engraving on the tang. The lock plate of the pistol which is also beautifully crafted has the matching engraving and a very neat looking pistol. The mechanics of the lockplate catches on the single position. The stock of the gun is made from a single piece of high quality burl wood. The wrist of the gun has the hand carved being that almost looks like fish scales. The front of the stock was carved by a master craftsman. It has the leaf patter relief carved in the detail work. The bottom of the grip is missing the original grip cap. The gun also has the silver triggerguard and nose cap. The original ramrod is in the channel underneath the barrel. This is a beautifully designed gun that dis priced right.
