Here is your opportunity to own a beautiful displaying state of Rhode Island militia coat from after the Civil War. This is one of the beautiful coatee uniforms that were worn by New England state militias before and after the Civil War. This one would have been made in the 1880's or 1890's. It was used by the state of Rhode Island, as is evident by the Rhode Island anchor designs uniform buttons adorning the coat. The front of the coat has the double rows of 9 Rhode Island state seal buttons. The buttons have the maker's marking from the Waterbury, Connecticut firm of Scovill Manufacturing. The cuffs of the coat have all 8 of the original cuffs size, Rhode Island buttons intact. The cloth of the coat is a beautiful red wool material that is trimmed in white. The lining of the coat as well, as the sleeves are still present with a nice aged milky tan color to the material. This is a great looking original 1880s to 1890s, Rhode Island state militia uniform.
