Here is a nice original Civil War veteran reunion ribbon. This one is from the 1893 reunion of the members of the hard fighting 8th Missouri Infantry. They fought in Kentucky and East Tennessee. Then they fought during the Atlanta Campaign under General Sherman as well as the battles of Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee and were present for Confederate General Johnston's surrender in North Carolina. At the top of the ribbon it has the "FIFTH REUNION / 8th / MO. INFT.". In the middle it has the 15th Army Corps insignia which is a 40 round cartridge box. The bottom has the Chicago, Illinois location as well as the September 13,14,15 1893 dates of the reunion. The ribbon is nice white silk that has aged to a pretty tan color and has blue ink. The ribbon measures 6-1/4th inches by 2-1/8th inches in overall size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
