Here is a wonderful display piece! After the Civil War one of the positions that was held by Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest was that of the President of the Selma, Marion & Memphis Railroad. He put his name behind the railroad and they issued the bonds like this one. The nice large bond has the train scene in the center section of the top. It is personally signed on the front by Forrest and just beside his signature it has the image that shows up on Confederate money depicting a slave carrying a basket of cotton. Since this bond is framed and matted we can’t see the other original signature of Forrest that will appear on the reverse. That’s right you get two authentic signatures of one of the most famous of all Confederate Generals on one document. The bond still has many of the original interest coupons present on the bottom. It displays superbly and will look stunning on your office wall. It is an excellent piece of Civil War history!
