Here is a tough to find pistol. This is the Remington-Rider Magazine pistol designed by John Rider. Flayderman's Guide states that they produced up to 15,000 of these guns between 1871 to 1888. They are designed with a 5 shot magazine below the barrel that fires the .32 caliber extra short cartridges. The mechanics of the gun still function on the positions. The barrel is still full-length at 3 inches and along the top of the barrel it reads "E. REMINGTON & SONS , ILLION, N.Y. / RIDERS PAT. AUG 15, 1871." The sides of the frame are nicely engraved. On the handle of the gun it has the 2-piece walnut wood panel grips intact. This is a very attractive Remington-Rider patent magazine pistol.
