Here is a really cool designed pistol. This flintlock pistol would have been made in the late 1700's to the early part of the 1800's. The gun is in the original flintlock configuration. The mechanics of the lock need adjustment. They stick often but it still catches on position but in order to get it to release, you have to push the trigger forward. It is designed with a beautiful walnut stock that is complimented with iron and brass fittings. The lock is ornately engraved with foliate designs. One neat thing about this gun is that the side plate, opposite of the lockplate, made of brass has the panoply of arms including a cannon. It has the heavily designed grip cap as well as the triggerguard. The triggerguard has the ornate designs like the rest of the gun as you can see in the images. The barrel of the gun is 10-3/8ths inches in length. It has the numerous designs on the breech. The original front sight is intact as well. What a neat gun especially when you consider that it is over 200 years old.
