This is a beautiful 1-piece coat size Artillery officer’s eagle "A” button. On the front of the button it has the eagle with the "A” in the center of the eagle’s shield which denotes the artillery branch of service. It has an excellent original shank intact. It has the back that has a clearly visible "W.H. HORSTMANN & CO. PHILAD.” backmark written in block style letters with one outer line and 2 inner lines. This is the version listed as AY200A2 in Tice's button book. The face has fine detail and a very clear "A” in the eagle’s shield. This is an excellent button all the way around.
