This is an interesting original shoulder sleeve patch from the 2nd world war. This is a patch that was worn by a "Foreign Volunteer" of the Nazi German regime. As they state in the Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich book by Brian Davis there were two basic types of volunteer in foreign lands. There were those that volunteered out of conviction to fight with Germany against communism and then there were the volunteers who served rather than be sent to the death camps or prisoner of war camps. This one is form Armenia. It is in the shape of a shield with the word "ARMENIEN" across the top. It is in very nice shape as you can see. It measures 2-1/2 inches by 2-3/4ths inches in overall size.
